Ray Speaks Out!

I, Ray Torres Sanchez, Candidate for Florida's 23rd Congressional District Seat in 2008, reach out to all of my fellow Democrats for your support and contributions. I ask this of you so that I may kick-off my campaign to improve the quality of life for all people within Florida's 23rd Congressional District.

I'd like you all to know I adopted my "One Voice for All People" campaign motto because I intend to represent the best interests of all people here in Florida and across our Nation by coordinating with other Congressional Leaders to bring your citizen voices, concerns and needs, straight into the Halls of Congress.

No one will be overlooked and no one will be left out!

History & Status of Florida's 23rd Congressional District

During the past 15 years, too many of our district cities have experienced severe economic, environmental and quality of life down-turns under our current congressional representation. As your Democrat Candidate for Florida's 23rd Congressional District Seat in 08', this fact of life is totally unacceptable to me, and it is time for rapid, more positive and lasting change in our communities.

Sadly, there are a significant number of cities within our district where 35% of our Families are living their lives below the poverty line. Additionally, 21% to 32% of our Senior Citizens age 65 or over live below the poverty line in all too many of our cities. The oldest members of our communities who are poverty stricken deserve our immediate attention and lasting care. I intend to proactively fight to reverse this awful trend of increased poverty and unemployment but I cannot do it without your help and your financial contributions to my campaign.

Question: From 1992 thru 2007 (15 Years) Has There Been Any Positive Changes for Citizens Living Within Florida's 23rd Congressional District?

The answer is a resounding "NO". It has recently been disclosed that under current congressional representation our area has continued to experience double the unemployment rate compared to National Census statistics, and; the number of citizens living at or below the poverty line has in fact DOUBLED over the past 15 years.

Something is terribly broken regarding our district's lack of meaningful and effective representation and I intend to fix it by focusing my energies toward making your life and your standard of living, better. To do this I need you to be my partner for success in 2008. Help me achieve our goal to help people in need. I ask that you please contribute whatever amount you can to my campaign so that you may join with me to help the less fortunate among us.

Together we can do it!
